HOW TO BUILD A GOOD PARAGRAPH
Paragraph elements
1) Sentence: Word, or set of words, whose
meaning is total. It is an independent element.
2) Thematic axis: The paragraph consists of
a central idea, which is usually synthesized in a sentence called thematic
sentence (which guides the development of the paragraph and is its axis),
and secondary or support sentences (between 4 and 5), which are the arguments
that explain and support the main idea.
The fair measure of a paragraph is a
maximum of five or six sentences.
Paragraph = SENTENCES
1 Topic Sentence (main)
4 – 5 Supporting Sentences
To write a good paragraph, you must first
define a topic, or "something you plan to talk about." You must
think about the topic sentence and express it taking into account that it has
the necessary elements to expose a complete thought.
What is essential in the construction of a
good paragraph is the brevity, clarity, precision and effectiveness with which
ideas are expressed. In addition, it is recommended to change the
paragraph when you complete a logical process and/or when the reader's
eyestrain demands it.
